We read the whole Bible because we are Jesus' disciples. He tells us we'll know more about Him (Luke 24:44-48) and live more like Him (2 Tim. 3:15-16).

For all of us, going back into the Old Testament to a different time, a peculiar people, strange customs, can make parts of the Bible challenging to understand. Grasping the story, the big themes, gives structure to the Bible. This story, themes, and structure go on into the New Testament - all centring on Jesus.
